three on the pitch

This was the very first year that all three of my children could participate in outdoor soccer season. Lydia was overjoyed to be included - finally! Her enthusiasm was particularly apparent when she was playing out on the soccer pitch. I found it very surprising how different the little girls play soccer from the boys. I noted Lydia's group to be a lot more assertive, aggressive, and eager to please their coaches. When my boys were in that age category, they weren't nearly so motivated! Now that they are in one of the higher age groups, they seem to be quite a lot more involved and enthralled with the sport.

We really did enjoy this soccer season. How amazing that God has given all of my children the ability to use their bodies in such a fun and skillful way? Each of them grew so much in their endurance, talents, and friendships throughout this soccer season. And the hours and hours of time spent outdoors as a family in the spring time is something on which you simply cannot put a price.
