tenth anniversary trip, part one: field house

Has it really been ten years? Ten years of being married to my best friend?
Is it really possible that I have spent a third of my life with this man that my heart loves so dearly?
My head says "no".
My heart feels like it has always been his.

To celebrate and and reflect and thank God for His provision over these amazing years, Joey and I escaped to somewhere slightly warmer than home: the Canadian Rockies. It was where we went for our honeymoon, and it seemed fitting to re-visit that beautiful part of our country once more.

The first leg of our journey took us to Calgary by plane. We stayed in the most unique and relaxing Airbnb imaginable! Our suite was superbly designed and decorated, with a clawfoot tub, huge glass shower, full kitchen, and homemade candles everywhere. The best part, however, lay just out the back door. A spacious, four-season solarium with a gas fireplace was hidden in the backyard of this unassuming home. It continually lured us in with it's seductive warmth and the sweet fragrance of green, growing things.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to let the cares of life melt away - and there had been quite a few of those in the previous week. It was the most perfect beginning to what would be the most perfect getaway.
