umm, you've got a pie on your roof.

So, what's the census on my new blog layout?  I like it a lot.  It's simple and pretty, which is all I've been aiming for over the last year.  That's enough about that, though.

a post in which I am mentioned far too much

I have a confession to make:  I have no idea where this blog is going.  Seriously, I don't.  It started out as simply "a thing to do", suggested to me by a relative over at Mission Musings, who has been blogging a lot longer than I have.  She gave me one piece of advice that I have tried to hold to: keep your background light.  But that's completely beside the point.

and I'm baking a cake at this hour?

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Oh, readers, I'm so sorry for the blogging lazies that have set in.  I'm not going to make any promises of future devotion because, quite frankly, then I'll just seem like even more of a jerk for breaking my promises. So.

This is really quite the busy season.  But not really for me.  Honestly, am I ever busy?  I mean, yes, I'm busy all the time taking care of my babe(s?), but as far as All Those Things With Which Adults Fill Their Time (whatever they are), my schedule is quite free.  The biggest thing on the agenda this month is my friend's wedding.  This particular wedding was widely speculated by pretty much the entire community of MacG, and thus the celebration before said occasion is, ahem, substantial.

Oh, weddings.  How... quaint they are.  Now that I'm married, they don't seem quite so magical as the once did.  You know, once upon a time when I was a doe-eyed beauty dreaming of my Prince Charming.  And now?  Well, I've had a baby (I look it) and Prince Charming is mine.  Weddings.  They once was aaaaaallll the rage.

I was taking a walk down memory lane (ugh! did I actually use that droll saying?  and who says droll??)  today, reading through a few of my pregnancy posts and looking at all of Judah's Brand New pictures.   Friends, it made me want more.  MORE. BABIES.  Actually, what that little side-trip did was make me extremely thankful for all that God has done in my life.  Where He's led me.  Who He put in my life.  Reminiscing is truly an amazing gift that we humans are blessed with.  We can remember!  It's awesome.

Alright, I sense a lack of focus here.  Howz about you and me go get us a sodie pop I just stop rambling, yeah?

in which I don't have a point

Thursday, August 12, 2010

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in so long, especially since I had been posting like crazy previous to this silence.

It's been just one of those weeks--not in a bad way, though.  The revelation extreme heat has zapped nearly all of my energy, and what I had left I've used up to look after my baby and slowly tackle the family laundry monster.  It's not like I've been neglecting it altogether, but I haven't actually done it ALL all summer long.  The excess has grown enough to become it's own entity.

Judah is happily bobbing up and down, up and down, up and down in his jolly-j this morning.  He's so cute.  It's been kind of a rough week for him as well.  It's just not fair that he's having to deal with the heat AND teething all at once.  I feel sorry for the little guy.  He's taking it pretty well, though, and I am still in possession of most of my sanity.

This hasn't been too bad of a week for eating properly.  I did kind of forget my rules on the weekend, though.  Really, you have to eat the food you take, even if you remember that oops! I wasn't going to eat that a split-second after it's on your plate.  But I am proud to say that I have not gone up for seconds once and have not enjoyed the camp desserts.  That in and of itself is an accomplishment to be proud of (for me).

The summer is quickly coming to a close.  We've entered the scary land of Teen Weeks--I never did enjoy being a teenager.  The independence and responsibility? That was good.  But being constantly pressured to dress that way or act this way or do those things with boys (sheesh, even to have a boyfriend) is definitely not the ideal situation for a young Christian teen.  I am so glad that I am married and done with all that drama.

Guess what?  I'm shirking my duties.  I am a duty shirker.  I really should be feeding my small child (and myself), putting him down for a nap, and greeting the day with a good attitude and a heart full of praise.  Maybe I should get on that.

and so it goes

Hello, readers.  It's been a while.

I actually have a good excuse (or two) for my absence this time.

prompted by my junior-high-ish desire to be popular

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Sometimes I wish my blog was more popular.  I wish I had 100 comments/post and was considered a bloggy-friend by other blogging mamas. You know what I mean? Like, couldn't I possibly, at one time in my life, be somewhat "cool"?  I'm fairly certain that every blogger out there has gone through the same pity-party.  If everyone else can write about there lives and be noticed because of it, then I should, too.

Yeah, so I might possibly have those kinds of thoughts from time to time. But then I think of all the responsibility I would have if such were the case (great privilege=great obligation).  The public eye would be on me, and I would constantly feel the need to perfect and obsess over my blog ALL THE TIME. I would have to maintain my internet life as if it was as important as the life I live day in, day out.

It just isn't that important to me.

This is how I blog:  I sit on my couch, baby pressed up to my tummy, nursing.  My left hand is pinned beneath cradling him, my right is typing this post.  I write about life, as seen through the eyes of yours truly.  I write mostly because I have family that's missing out on my baby growing up (and also because I simply love to write), and I want to make them feel as involved and informed as I can given the distance that separates us.  Blogging isn't my life.  It's an expression of me, but it's not so special as to give me identity in any way.

I think my desire to be noticed is something that really does not honour God.  HE>i.  Period.  How does shameless self promotion reflect my servitude to my loving Saviour in any way?

Thanks to all of you who read my blog.  I'm glad you stop by every now and then.  I hope that this tiny little corner of cyber space serves as a blessing to you and, most importantly, a sweet aroma to God.
